Section of frieze described in no 12, during the removal of the cement.  Beneath these previous repairs you can clearly see the lamination of the facebedded ham stone as well as the presence of iron pins in a friable surface.  The presence of both the cement and iron have greatly accelerated the cyles of decay within the stone
