Crouching Lion and pinnacle in Zone D south east corner buttress.  The full impact of the pinnacle with its carved springer is revealed after conservation.  The sheltercoat on this figure as well as the four legged winged beast to the dexter is designed to bring out the form of the carving but also to integrate visually with the surrounding stonework and the tower as a whole.
